OhioMeansJobs Information

OhioMeansJobs – Erie County works with employers to help recruite, screen, and interview candidates. We can also connect you with local training providers to boost your employees’ skills and knowledge.

Services Include:

  • Post job openings on OhioMeansJobs.com
  • Develop wanted ads and post in our Resource Room and on Social Media
  • Assist in finding talent in special populations such as: Veterans, older workers, workers with disabilities, and youth.
  • Access to computer training labs, on-site intervieew space, and conference rooms
  • Organize job fairs and mass recruitments
  • Labor Management information through the use of: http://www.onetoonline.org and http:www.careeronestop.org
  • Connect with local training providers
  • Identify resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Apply for On-the-job Training benefits for new hires
  • Information for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) when hiring eligible populations

Hiring Events/Career Fairs – Virtual Job Fair

We are able to assist in recruiting employees to meet an employer’s needs. Hiring Events/Career Fairs may be conducted at OhioMeansJobs – Erie County, free of charge. Training

We can assist employers in accessing training through local career centers and colleges to create specific training plans to meet the employer’s needs.

On-the-job Training Program (OJT)

Employers incur onboarding costs when hiring new employees. This program allows OhioMeansJobs – Erie County to work with the employer and employee through the training period and offer reimbursement of wages to the employer through the training period up to six (6) months or $8,000 whichever comes first.

Rapid Response/Layoff Aversion

Upon notification of a closure or lay-off in Erie County, our Rapid Response Team is able to offer services for re-employment, resume development, and job search assistance in an effort to make the transition less stressful.
